Commissioned by the municipality of Nijmegen and the Stadsschouwburg Nijmegen, ToornendPartners developed a strategic brief for the future of the Stadsschouwburg concert hall. The concert hall dates from 1961 and is a striking and relatively young monument that has not been modernized to any great extent since its opening. The strategic brief contains a detailed vision on how to prepare the hall for the future, improving accessibility, sustainability and creating a better experience for visitors. The plan which was issued in March 2020 at the first signs of the coronavirus was nonetheless received enthusiastically. The municipality of Nijmegen has pledged funds to carry out the first phase of the plan, including the very necessary renovation of various technical installations inside the theater. ToornendPartners has been retained as a professional advisor in this capacity.
