Museum Meermanno | The House of the Book (formerly Meermanno-Westreenianum, as indicated on the facade) is the oldest book museum devoted to books in the world. It is located in the former residence of the founder of the museum Willem Hendrik Jacob baron van Westreenen van Tiellandt (1783-1848) on the Prinsessegracht in The Hague and focuses on the hand-written and printed book.
Museum Meermanno is one of the national museums. In the context of the new Housing System that came into effect for national museums in 2017, ToornendPartners drew up the multi-year maintenance plan on behalf of Museum Meermanno. Museum Meermanno is a national monument with well-preserved finishes and original details.
