With the completion and extension of the Anne Frank House having given rise to increased excitement, the Anne Frank House had to provide insight into the maintenance arrangements for the new extension and the existing buildings. The extension called for new maintenance contracts to be concluded and to make more professional maintenance arrangements. The Foundation asked ToornendPartners to draw up multi-year long-term maintenance plans with a substantiated proposal for the demarcation of duties and responsibilities between building owner and user. As a more detailed elaboration of these requirements, ToornendPartners subsequently drew up the annual plans for the various buildings on Keizersgracht, Westermarkt, Prinsengracht and the apartment on Merwedeplein. On this basis, the board adopted the maintenance budgets.
